After failing to pb as yesterday's Cardiff park 5km (by 2 seconds!) I wanted to try to get some kind of record so went for a fast mile today. Did a warm up jog for just under half a mile (otherwise the whole of the 'fast mile' would be uphill!) and then ran as fast as I coud. Looks like I had good pace at the start and the end (the last 3rd is down hill) but the middle of the mile is uphill and hard. 6:10 is 10 seconds too slow.
Had an odd feeling right foot / ankle after the run, not sore, but not right. Seems OK a few hours later. Update: following morning my right calf and lower leg feels tight and quite sore when walking around.
